The Alliance of International Doctors (AID) Establishes Orthotics-Prosthetic Centers to Provide Free Services to Earthquake Victims Who Have Loss of Limb in the Earthquake Area
- In Addition to the Orthotics and Prosthetic Centers that will be Established in Hatay And Kahramanmaraş, 1 Mobile Vehicle will Serve as a Mobile Prosthesis Center in the Earthquake Zone
- At the event held in Kuwait, the Alliance of International Doctors (AID) informed the participants about their project which runs in various world geographies. The presentations focused on the search and rescue effects in the Maraş earthquakes affected districts, field hospitals, and the orthotic-prosthesis project planned for earthquake victims.

- The Alliance of International Doctors Association representatives who explained their work in various world geographies to humanitarian relief organizations in Kuwait, such as orthotics and prosthetic projects, cataract surgeries, emergency and medical first aid, were welcomed with great interest.
- Tuba Nur SÖNMEZ, the Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Kuwait, who made the opening speech of the event, said, “I would like to thank the Kuwaiti organizations that continue their work in the regions affected by the Maraş earthquake. We have seen once again that international cooperation in humanitarian relief strengthens the impact on the field. I wish the works of non-governmental organizations in Kuwait and the Alliance of International Doctors Foundation to continue successfully.”

- Dr. Mevlit YURTSEVEN, the president of AID, who made a presentation on behalf of the Alliance of International Doctors Foundation, ended up his speech with these words, ‘’ The collaborative culture that develops every year improves our possibilities to produce more effective solutions, and as a result of it, we are proud to be able to reach more people. We are on the field with all of our shareholders to provide the most accurate treatment and support to those affected by the Maraş earthquakes. Thank you for your support. Our centers will be able to provide both medical aid to thousands of earthquake victims and produce the orthotics and prosthetics they need by using advanced technologies.’’

- The representatives of the Alliance of International Doctors Foundation (AID) presented their work for 5 years within the scope of the orthosis-prosthesis project, which continues with Zakat House funds, with a short documentary film during their presentation at the event. They shared details about the orthotic-prosthetic project that will be carried out for people affected by the Maraş earthquakes.
- Dr. Majed Sulaiman ALAZMİ, the Acting General Manager of Zakat House said '' In 2016, we launched a campaign to establish a center that will produce orthotics-prosthetics for people who have loss of limb due to the war. This project, which we carried out together with the Alliance of International Doctors Foundation, gave hope to thousands of people.’’ And promised to contribute $1 million to the project.

- On behalf of the Secretary General of the Kuwait General Directorate of Foundations, Marub Yakub AL-YAKUB, the General Manager of Charity Funds, informed the participants about the working principles of their organization and said, “As the Directorate of Foundations, we continue to support the medical center in Istanbul. Throughout this process, we will continue to work to provide that more people have access to medical care and may benefit from advanced technology orthotics-prosthetic applications.’’
- Dr. Abdullah MATUK, the president of the International Charitable Organization said ‘’With their impact on the field and sustainable medicine projects, established medical centers make a significant contribution to the region. Following the earthquake, we launched an emergency appeal to enable benefactors to support their fellows in Turkey and Syria. In the aftermath of this huge disaster, our efforts to be in full solidarity for the locals surpassed 1 million 295 thousand people.’’

- At the event, which was held with the top participation, one of Kuwait's leading non-governmental organizations, the Kuwait Medical Association, Qawafel Relief and Development Foundation, Rahme Al-Alemiyye Charity, Nama Al-Hayriye Charity, Kuwait Red Crescent, Sheikh Abdullah Nouri Charity, Zakat House Foundation and International Humanitarian Relief Foundation informed the representatives of Ata Group, Şifa Group, Kuwaiti Women's Group, Liecliha Group, El-Dana Group, Terahum Group, Maha Group, Auspicious Women Group, and Sinaum Al-Khayr about the Mobile Prosthesis Center, which will serve as a mobile, as well as the Orthotics and Prosthesis centers to be established in Hatay and Kahramanmaraş.
- Following the event, bilateral negotiations were held between the institutions and thoughts were exchanged on the projects and potential collaborations that Kuwait Public Institutions and Humanitarian Relief Foundations will carry out together with the Alliance of International Doctors Foundation.
- During the meeting with Tuba Nur SÖNMEZ, the Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Kuwait, thanks were conveyed on behalf of the Alliance of International Doctors Foundations (AID) for their support. Some information was relayed on upcoming collaborative projects with Kuwaiti non-governmental groups.
- During the meeting with the President of International Charitable Organization and Dr. Abdullah Matuk, the special representative of the United Nations Secretary-General, the details of the center, that prepared for the opening in Hatay and will provide primary health care services in an area of 258 square meters, and potential projects were discussed.
- - During the meeting with Dr. Majed Sulaiman ALAZMI, Zakat House Acting General Manager, the work of the "Orthotics-Prosthetics Center", which has been operating for 5 years with the support of Zakat House and has been serving nearly 4000 patients, was discussed. It was informed that the support for the project will continue and a new fund of 1 million dollars will be allocated.
- During the meeting with Maha BERCEZ, the Secretary General of the Kuwait Red Crescent, thoughts were exchanged for the development of collaborative works, and the projects carried out by the Alliance of International Doctors Foundation (AID) around the world were explained in its details.
- During the meeting with İbrahim ALTUVALİ, the President of the Kuwait Medical Association, ideas were shared on joint projects with the Alliance of International Doctors Foundations (AID) on the psychological support to be provided to people affected by the earthquake.

- The Alliance of International Doctors Foundation (AID), which started its work in Istanbul in 2011, in addition to the medical aid works provided by the field hospitals they established after the Maraş earthquakes, will actualize advanced technology orthosis-prosthesis project which provide free service to people who have loss of limb in the earthquake that hit our country on February 6, which affected 13 million of our citizens.
