1000 art pieces of orphan children and their mothers met with art-lovers in the “Star Dust Art Exhibition”, which was held within the scope of the “Smiling Faces Project” carried out together by AID and IHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation for 3 years.
- Within the cover of the "Smiling Faces Project", art pieces produced by 71 orphan children and 35 orphan mothers in 10 different branches of art in cooperation with the Alliance of International Doctors (AID) and the Humanitarian Relief Foundation (IHH) were exhibited at the Political Foundation and offered for sale.
- The exhibition lasted for three days which was opened with the cutting of the ribbon by Our President, Dr. Mevlit Yurtseven, and Murat Yılmaz, the IHH Vice President in charge of Orphans.
- The “Smiling Faces Project” was launched in 2013 with the cooperation of AID and IHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation in order to enable orphan children and their mothers to cope with the loss they experienced and to alleviate the psychological impact of this loss on people. With the project, most of which was created by families who migrated to Istanbul, it is aimed to determine the needs with objective methods, to develop programs that will respond to these needs and to make post-implementation evaluations. These evaluations will be used both to investigate the effectiveness of the programs and to bring the programs into a more suitable form with the findings obtained.
- The Smiling Faces Project also aims to reduce the risk factors in the life of the target group and increase the support factors by developing “intervention” programs. With the activities carried out within the scope of the project, the mental, emotional and social development of children is also encouraged. Again, educational activities are carried out to increase the academic success of the children involved in the project, and art and skill workshops are organized in order to improve the children in their developmental period in many areas.
- The project, which organizes psychological support programs, educational activities and art-skill workshops for mothers as well as children, aims to empower women spiritually, improve their parenting skills, reduce negative discipline methods towards their children, and help women acquire professional skills.
Within the scope of the project, to orphaned children and their mothers:
- Individual / group psychotherapy service
- Educational activities for mothers and children
- Art and Skill Workshops within the framework of Occupational Therapies for mothers and children
